Hey there, Red Rose Figure Skating Club! Welcome to what I hope will be the best picture day experience you can have. I can't begin to describe how excited I am to be supporting you this year, and I'm grateful to be with you.

I started Creative Sports Photography to raise the performance level of picture day. The skaters in your family put in so much work, commitment, and sacrifice, and you should expect the same level of excellence from your team photographer.

I put this webpage together for you as a hub for information, schedules, and answers to questions.

You'll also find below a sign up form. When your image collection is ready to view, an email will go out to everyone who signed up with the link and password.

How Picture Day Works

I started Creative Sports Photography because as a former soccer player and a youth sports coach, I felt the whole team picture day experience had to be reinvented.

It begins simply through connecting with the players, getting to their level, listening to them, so they feel this is as much about them as it is anything else.

I've developed a picture day workflow that maximizes efficiency while achieving the high image quality you've come to expect from CSP.

We're going to be working with my mobile studio inside one of Regency Sportsrink's locker rooms. Have each skater arrive in their performance apparel, including skates.

Each skater will receive multiple portraits. This way you'll have choices (instead of having just one uninspired picture, like the way old fashion team picture days go).

When your club's image collection is ready, an email with a link and password will go out to those who sign up below. That way you're first to know when it's time to order.

Meet Your Photographer

Dave Pidgeon is a seasoned photographer and professional storyteller who has worked in media production for more than two decades.

Dave's expertise in on-location lighting and high-end portraiture, in combination with his own experiences as a player, coach, and father, led him to start Creative Sports Photography in 2021.

Creative Sports Photography's signature style and athlete portrait experiences are highly sought after by athletes and photographers alike. He's worked with athletes in multiple states across all levels, and he's taught his lighting and portrait methods to photographers from across the country.

More importantly, though, he's dedicated to making athlete portrait sessions relaxed, enjoyable, and focused first and foremost on respecting the athlete.

Team Picture Day FAQs

DO PARENTS HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING UPFRONT FOR PHOTOS?

You don't need to prepay for prints or digital downloads. I believe to my core that you shouldn't have to pay for a single image before you ever see one. This gives me more than enough incentive to create athlete and team portraits you actually want to have.

DO YOU OFFER PRINTS AND DIGITAL PACKAGES?

Oh yeah. CSP utilizes one of the nation's top print labs to provide high quality print products and gifts, and while there are ala carte options, I also offer print and digital packages. The entire product and price list is below by clicking here.

WHAT IF MY SKATER MISSES PICTURE DAY? WILL THERE BE MAKEUPS?

Unfortunately, due to sickness or injury or vacations and so on, a swimmer might miss team picture day. Creative Sports Photography will do everything in its power to accommodate your player on another day if practical.

HOW LONG AFTER PICTURE DAY WILL WE SEE THE PHOTOS?

Usually, culling and editing team picture day can take 1-3 weeks. This can be impacted by the volume of work, and there are certain seasons (Spring and late Fall) when turnaround times can be impacted. My goal, though, is to have them to you for ordering within three weeks, and I want to make sure I communicate with the entire club to provide updates on progress.

HOW LONG WILL WE HAVE TO ORDER THE PHOTOS?

As each team's final, edited image collection is finished, CSP publishes them to a central, online, password-protected gallery where all the team pictures are stored. They will be organized by team so finding your family's player is easy. Everyone will have at least four weeks to order prints and gifts.
