How Team Picture Day Works
This ain't your typical hockey season, and it certainly should not be a boring, typical team picture day either.
I'm a former player and youth sports coach, and with that experience, I've developed a team picture day system that maximizes efficiency without sacrificing quality (and maintains the integrity of practice). I'll work with three players at a time so that the rest of the team can work with their coaches.
Each player will receive multiple looks (or poses) so that parents have choice when it comes to ordering their favorite pictures. My specialty, honed over the years, is to creatively use where players make their memories - their home field - to convey who they are and what playing means to them.
Once all the players have had the opportunity to have their portraits taken, then we'll take the team picture.
After team picture day, the images will be culled and edited, then uploaded to a password-protected gallery. You'll be able to order vibrant prints, high res digital downloads, and keepsakes, which will be delivered right to your door.
Team Picture Day Schedule
Creative Sports Photography and the Central Penn Panthers are developing a team picture day schedule that maximizes efficiency without sacrificing convenience. We're currently working together to ensure most (if not all) team picture days are completed before October, that way you'll have plenty of time to order ahead of the holidays.
When team picture day takes place, please, only three players at a time in the individual portrait area. This maintains efficiency without sacrificing quality, and if a parent can assist with this, it will be deeply appreciated.

Meet Your Photographer
Dave Pidgeon is a seasoned photographer and professional storyteller who has worked in media production for more than two decades.
Dave's expertise in on-location lighting and high-end portraiture, in combination with his own experiences as a player, coach, and father, led him to start Creative Sports Photography in 2021.
Creative Sports Photography's signature style and athlete portrait experiences are highly sought after by athletes and photographers alike. He's worked with athletes in multiple states across all levels, and he's taught his lighting and portrait methods to photographers from across the country.
More importantly, though, he's dedicated to making athlete portrait sessions relaxed, enjoyable, and focused first and foremost on respecting the athlete.

Team Picture Day FAQs
DO PARENTS HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING UPFRONT FOR PHOTOS?
Nope! I don't believe in that, actually. You only pay for the photos you want after you see them in the password-protected online gallery. For me, that maintains the incentive to create images you actually want to have.
DO YOU OFFER PRINT AND DIGITAL PACKAGES?
Oh yeah. CSP utilizes one of the nation's top print labs to provide high quality print products and gifts, and while there are ala carte options, I also offer print and digital packages. The entire product and price list is below by clicking here.
WHY IS THERE A MINIMUM $25 PER ORDER?
Creative Sports Photography has been around for five years, and I hope to be around for many more seasons. The minimum $25 per order is in place to ensure CSP's sustainability.
WHAT IF MY PLAYER MISSES TEAM PICTURE DAY? WILL THERE BE MAKEUPS?
Unfortunately, due to sickness or injury or vacations and so on, a player might miss media day. Creative Sports Photography will do everything in its power to accommodate your player on another day if practical.
PRACTICE IS IMPORTANT. REALLY IMPORTANT. HOW MUCH DISRUPTION IS THIS GOING TO CAUSE TO HOCKEY PRACTICE?
I'm a former youth sports coach, and in my years photographing teams, I've come to understand and respect the importance of practice time. Getting time on the ice is a premium and not to be taken for granted. That's why I've developed a workflow that maximizes efficiency without sacrificing quality, and it maintains the integrity of practice. Part of that workflow includes working with groups of three players at a time for individual portraits, that way the rest of the team can practice.
HOW LONG AFTER TEAM PICTURE DAY WILL WE SEE THE PHOTOS?
My goal is to deliver team picture day images within one week of the event. While this can be impacted by the volume of work (busiest seasons are in the Spring and Fall), I will do everything in my power to deliver these to you in a timely fashion.
HOW LONG WILL WE HAVE TO ORDER THE PHOTOS?
As each team's final, edited image collection is finished, CSP publishes them to a central, online, password-protected gallery, where all the team pictures are stored. Everyone will have at least four weeks to order prints and gifts. In CPP's case, you'll definitely be able to order throughout the holiday season.
WILL YOU TAKE PICTURES OF SIBLINGS OR COACHES AND THEIR CHILDREN?
Yes. Absolutely, yes! These will be taken on the ice right after the team group pictures are taken. This is done so that the camera settings and lighting equipment are set for group photos (unlike the individual portrait area). PLEASE NOTE: Only players, siblings, and coaches who are involved in CPP are eligible. If you have another player with another club, please speak to me about other arrangements.
