Welcome to Team Picture Days with Creative Sports Photography
Hey there, PDR Swimming! Welcome to what I hope will be the best team picture day experience you can have. I can't begin to describe how excited I am to be supporting you this season, and I'm grateful to be with you.

I started Creative Sports Photography to raise the performance level of team picture day. The swimmers in your family put in so much work, commitment, and sacrifice to swim, and you should expect the same level of excellence from your team photographer.​
​
I put this webpage together for you as a hub for information, schedules, and answers to questions.
You'll also find below a sign up form. When your image collection is ready to view, an email will go out to everyone who signed up with the link and password.

How Team Picture Day Works
During the years, Creative Sports Photography has worked with sports clubs to develop an efficient and high quality team picture day.
​​
My goal is to provide each swimmer with multiple "looks" or poses, so that parents have choice when it comes to ordering prints and/or digital downloads. No more one boring photo. CSP's aim is to tell the story of what this time, this season, this sport means to your swimmer.​
​
I'm a former journalist and peer mentor, and I bring those skills to help swimmers of every age relax and enjoy the moment in front of the camera, even those who might feel introverted or uncomfortable with having their picture taken.
​​
After the team picture session, the images will be culled and professionally edited, then uploaded to a password-protected gallery.
​
Everyone will have at least four weeks to order prints, digital downloads, and keepsakes.

Meet Your Photographer
Dave Pidgeon is a seasoned photographer and professional storyteller who has worked in media production for more than two decades.
​
Dave's expertise in on-location lighting and high-end portraiture, in combination with his own experiences as a player, coach, and father, led him to start Creative Sports Photography in 2021.
​
Creative Sports Photography's signature style and athlete portrait experiences are highly sought after by athletes and photographers alike. He's worked with athletes in multiple states across all levels, and he's taught his lighting and portrait methods to photographers from across the country.
​
More importantly, though, he's dedicated to making athlete portrait sessions relaxed, enjoyable, and focused first and foremost on respecting the athlete.

DO PARENTS HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING UPFRONT FOR PHOTOS?​

Nope! Down to my core, I do not believe in making parents pay for images before they see them. I don't consider that to be a good, customer-focused business practice. Besides, I love the incentive of bringing my A Game to every single portrait session to deliver amazing images you actually want to own.​​

DO YOU OFFER PRINTS AND DIGITAL PACKAGES?
​
Oh yeah. CSP utilizes one of the nation's top print labs to provide high quality print products and gifts, and while there are ala carte options, I also offer print and digital packages. The entire product and price list is below by clicking here.​

WHAT IF MY SWIMMER MISSES TEAM PICTURE DAY? WILL THERE BE MAKEUPS?
​
Unfortunately, due to sickness or injury or vacations and so on, a swimmer might miss team picture day. At this time, no make up date is schedule. My hope is to return in 2027 with LDR Swimming.

I'M WORRIED ABOUT HOW MY SWIMMER WILL LOOK (HAIR ISSUES OR "GOGGLE EYES"). CAN ANYTHING BE DONE?

I get what you're saying. Especially for those who will be swimming before their individual portrait session. And my goal is here to photograph every swimmer in the most flattering way possible. I would suggest for those swimmers, wear their swim caps and consider keeping goggles on for the photo shoot. Ideal? Maybe not. Better than red goggle eyes in the photo? I think so. What about you?

HOW LONG AFTER TEAM PICTURE DAY WILL WE SEE THE PHOTOS?

Usually, culling and editing team picture day can take 1-3 weeks. This can be impacted by the volume of work, and there are certain seasons (Spring and late Fall) when turnaround times can be impacted. My goal, though, is to have them to you for ordering within three weeks, and I want to make sure I communicate with the entire club to provide updates on progress.

WHY IS THERE A MINIMUM $25 PER ORDER
​
That's a great question, and I want to answer it with full disclosure. The minimum $25 is set to ensure Creative Sports Photography's sustainability. Without it, CSP would not stay in business and not be able to provide premium portraits to young athletes like yours.
​
HOW LONG WILL WE HAVE TO ORDER THE PHOTOS?
​
As each team's final, edited image collection is finished, CSP publishes them to a central, online, password-protected gallery where all the team pictures are stored. Everyone will have at least four weeks to order prints and gifts.
